Mauricetown Academy High Street, Mauricetown, New Jersey The two room elementary school of Greek-Revival style was built in 1860 by Charles Bacon, a local architect. At that time rows of silver-maple trees shaded the streets of this village and many were planted in the spacious schoolyard. The building has been in annual use by the public educational system for more than a century, the final closing was made in 1962. |

Mauricetown M. E. Church Mariners' Memorial Window Names of sea captains and mates of sailing vessels lost during years 1856-1914 are listed on a memorial window dedicated by the last surviving sea captain Alonzo T. Bacon. Mauricetown Methodist Church was built in 1880 after original church had been moved to another location. Window sill plaque (1980 by C. P. Bacon) states significance of listed names. |
